かがまりて見つつかなしもしみじみと水湧き居れば砂うごくかな

I observe the sand moving
as the water
springs up―
feeling its sadness deeply

mitsutsu kanashi mo
shimijimi to
mizu waki ore ba
suna ugoku kana
死にしづむ火山のうへにわが母の乳汁の色のみづ見ゆるかな
in a volcano,
quiet as death,
I can see the water―
its color,
my mother’s breast

waga haha no
chishiru no iro no
mizu miyuru kana
